Current National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance point to a Tuesday high in the mid-to-upper 80s for Atlanta, with easterly winds of 10-15 mph and gusts to 25 mph limiting daytime heating after several days of mid-90s readings. This shift from recent northwesterly flow has introduced slightly cooler, moister air, capping temperatures below the recent heat dome while keeping skies mostly sunny to partly cloudy with only modest shower chances. Historical climatology shows an average September 8 high of 85.3 °F, placing the market’s leading 86-87 °F and 88-89 °F bins squarely within the expected range. Traders are weighting the tight cluster of outcomes because small differences in afternoon cloud cover or the precise timing of any sea-breeze influence could shift the official airport maximum by 1–2 °F. Updated NWS point forecasts and short-range model runs through the weekend will provide the final data before resolution.
