Sweden’s September 13 parliamentary election is two weeks away, with polls showing the centre-left opposition bloc holding a lead of roughly 4–7 points over Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s Tidö government parties and Sweden Democrats ally. Magdalena Andersson’s Social Democrats remain the largest single party at around 30–31 percent, translating into an estimated majority of seats for the opposition and positioning her to form the next government. Recent surveys from Indikator, Ipsos, Demoskop, and Verian confirm the gap has narrowed modestly since June yet stays wide enough that historical precedent makes reversal unlikely in the final stretch. Preferred-prime-minister ratings reinforce Andersson’s advantage. Low odds for Jimmie Åkesson, Ebba Busch, and other party leaders reflect bloc arithmetic that favors the largest party’s leader as prime minister following a change of government.
