Sweden’s parliamentary election on September 13 positions Social Democrat leader Magdalena Andersson as the frontrunner for prime minister, reflecting sustained bloc polling leads of roughly five to ten points over Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s Tidö coalition and its Sweden Democrat allies. Recent surveys from Indikator, Ipsos, Demoskop and Verian show the centre-left opposition holding 50–54 percent support against 44–47 percent for the government side, with the gap narrowing modestly in August amid voter focus on cost of living, crime, energy and security. Andersson’s party has maintained its status as Sweden’s largest, while coalition partners face threshold risks; no late events have reversed the trader consensus on an opposition victory and her subsequent appointment.
