Recent polling averages place the Social Democrats well ahead at roughly 30-31%, with the Sweden Democrats holding a narrow but consistent edge over the Moderate Party at around 19% versus 18%. This positioning stems from SD's sustained support on immigration, crime, and security issues that defined the Tidö government's agenda, while Moderates have seen modest gains from bloc tightening but trail in individual party trends. The election campaign's focus on cost of living and energy has not shifted second-place dynamics substantially in the final weeks, with SD benefiting from its role as the largest right-leaning party. Traders reflect this through implied probabilities favoring SD for second place, consistent with late-August surveys showing the gap between the two remaining stable despite overall bloc convergence ahead of the September 13 vote.
