Futuro Nazionale, founded in February 2026 by former Lega MEP and general Roberto Vannacci after his break from Matteo Salvini’s party, has established a consistent polling lead over Lega ahead of Italy’s next general election, due no later than December 2027. Recent BiDiMedia surveys place Futuro Nazionale at 8% and Lega at 4.8%, with similar gaps reported across multiple pollsters since June. The new party has drawn support from voters favoring stricter nationalist positions on immigration, security, and sovereignty, while Lega continues to lose ground within the centre-right bloc. This sustained gap in voting intentions underpins the market’s 78% implied probability that Futuro Nazionale will finish ahead of Lega.
