**Persistent high-pressure ridging over the southern Plains has sustained well-above-normal overnight lows across North Texas, driving the strong market consensus around an 80–81°F minimum for Dallas on September 6.** Official National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus indicate mostly clear skies, light southerly flow, and dew points near 70°F, limiting radiational cooling and keeping temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s—well above the 1991–2020 September normal of ~72°F. Recent observations, including a 79°F low on September 5 at DFW, reinforce this pattern amid a multi-week heat episode with no significant frontal passages or cloud cover to alter the trajectory. A realistic challenge would require an unanticipated stronger boundary or increased low-level moisture that enhances cooling, though current guidance shows low probability of such shifts before resolution.
