Persistent high pressure and southerly flow from the Gulf are sustaining above-normal warmth across central Texas, with National Weather Service forecasts indicating a minimum temperature in the mid to upper 70s for Austin on September 9. This setup, typical of late-summer ridging, limits nocturnal cooling and supports dew points near 70°F that moderate overnight drops. While climatological averages for early September hover near 69°F, current model consensus favors readings several degrees higher, creating the observed market spread across 69°F-or-below and mid-70s bins. Short-range guidance updates over the next 48 hours will refine steering patterns and any subtle frontal influences that could alter the overnight low.
