Lula holds a commanding lead in Sergipe for first place in the October 2026 presidential first round, reflecting consistent regional strength in Brazil’s Northeast. Recent Quaest polling shows him at 53% against Flávio Bolsonaro at 19%, with all other tested names in single digits or lower, aligning with earlier surveys placing Lula near 60%. Traders price this dominance at 95.5%, driven by 60% government approval and 50% positive management ratings in the state, plus longstanding PT support among local voters. Flávio Bolsonaro’s national profile has not translated into comparable gains here despite PL efforts. Late shifts remain possible through major scandals, sharp national economic changes, or unexpected opposition momentum before voting, though current evidence shows no such movement.
